  8. NET.TALK bills itself as the definitive dictionary of the acronyms and
  9. emoticons ("smileys") so beloved by inhabitants of the on-line world.
  10. I found the book amusing and somewhat entertaining as it stretched the
  11. two concepts to the point of comedy.  I rarely use either, prefering
  12. to utilize words to express myself, but since both acronyms (a long-time
  13. government and military favorite) and emoticons are a standard fixture
  14. on the on-line world, I guess a couple of books on the subject are 
  15. appropriate. There's even a section on cute on-line signatures.  
  16. This book priced at $5.95 would make a cute litle gift for someone new to
  17. the on-line world.  Many of the more serious Internet "how-to" books have 
  18. acronym and emoticon glossaries, but not as comprehensive as NET.TALK.
